“The Chief Editor is on his way.” The studio staff was telling Fu Sichen, “Best Actor Fu, you can try to get a feel for the shoot while you’re waiting.”

Manager Wang Youquan was also busy communicating with the photographer and setting up props; he needed to make sure that the shoot went smoothly.

The wardrobe assistant and makeup artist were busy fussing around Fu Sichen, trying to suppress their fanatic screams. They put his make-up on with trembling hands.

Nobody saw the Persian cat jump off the sofa, much less noticed that he had walked up to the fish tank.

There were around six or seven goldfish in the tank. They were colorful, but didn’t seem to be in the best of health— they weren’t moving a lot, and looked like they were about to die any minute now.

Pei Zhen leapt onto the table and sat in front of the fish tank for a while before the goldfish even realized that he was there.

“Ahhhhhh… cat! It’s a cat!”

“Why is there a cat here?!”

“Oh no, is he going to eat us?”

Finally, the fish in the tank started to move. It seemed like they were in a panic; they already started to create a little whirlpool from moving around so much.

Pei Zhen looked on quietly.

He rolled his eyes and thought he’d try to communicate, “I’m not interested in eating you.”

The fish started to squeal again, “Good heavens! The fat cat is trying to trick us!”

Pei Zhen was annoyed.

Fat? How was he fat! Even as a cat, his body met the golden ratio standard!

“Stop talking nonsense.” If it wasn’t for the fact that they were sick, he wouldn’t have even bothered talking with these stupid fish, “Are you having problems breathing?”

What a miracle!

A cat was concerned for fish.

The goldfish felt flattered by the cat’s concern over their well being. They huddled together, trembling, and stared back at the cat.

Pei Zhen got impatient, “Damn it. Can somebody tell me what the problem is?”

Before Pei Zhen could finish, the fish got frightened and started screaming again.

“Ahhhhhh… cat! It’s a cat!”

“Why is there a cat here?!”

“Oh no, is he going to eat us?”

It was the same conversation, with the same actions all over again. Even the way they swam around the fish tank was exactly the same. The school of fish struggled, swam around, before grouping together once more.

“Hey, so you guys….” Pei Zhen said.

“Ahhhhhh… cat! It’s a cat!”

“Why is there a cat here?!”

“Oh no, is he going to eat us?”

Not again.

The fish were screaming so loudly that Pei Zhen got a headache.

Then, he finally remembered— fish only had a seven second memory. They didn’t have the capacity to store memories in their brains, so he couldn’t communicate with them normally.

When the water in the fish tank was stirred up, the fish seemed to breathe more easily. They looked healthier and more alive.

Pei Zhen had never owned any fish, so he didn’t really understand what was going on.

However, he had always been a perceptive person. He felt like he needed to stir up the water in order to save the fish. Rather than waste his time trying to communicate with the silly fish, Pei Zhen simply stuck his paw into the water and started to splash around the tank.

“Arghhhhhh!”

There was another shrill cry.

This time it wasn’t made by the fish— it was made by a human.

The sound of high heels hitting the floor quickly followed, and Pei Zhen was stunned for a while. He turned around to see a lady dressed in a suit rushing madly towards him, “My fishies!”

The lady was fast; she arrived in a flash. She stretched out her hands to try and grab Pei Zhen. Fortunately, Pei Zhen was quick. He shrunk back, retracted his claws, and dodged.

“Zhang… Chief Editor Zhang?!”

By this point, the studio staff had noticed what was going on. They saw the cat jumping away from the fish tank, and their hearts pounded nervously.

Oh no.

This cat was definitely going to be in trouble.

Chief Editor Zhang really loved her pet fish. She quickly checked up on them to make sure they were all safe before turning around to glare at her staff, “Whose cat is this?!”

She would skin him alive!
